Secchi and Aruffo triumph in the Junior race of the Silca Tri Kids in Revine

The triathlon spectacle colours Santa Maria Lake. Sport, friendship, competitiveness and a lot of fun today, Sunday 30 June, in Revine Lago (TV) with the Silca Tri Kids - kids triathlon and minitriathlon, the event organised by Silca Ultralite Vittorio Veneto and valid as the ninth stage of the Coppa Veneto Giovani and as the fourth stage of the Interregional Northeast Circuit of the Italian Triathlon Federation (Fitri). An entire event dedicated to young people, from 6 to 19 years of age: over 300 triathletes in the Minicuccioli, Cuccioli, Esordienti, Ragazzi, Youth A and B and Junior (under 20) categories arrived from all over the North-East and also from Emilia Romagna.

Taking victory for the second year in the Junior category was Giovanni Aruffo from Montecchio Maggiore in Vicenza, who led a race from the front, right from the first swimming fraction (375 metres). The man from Vicenza increased his lead during the cycling fraction (10 km) and then led a solitary ride in the 2.5 km foot race. For him the victory in 33'01''. Second place for Stefano Degano (Cus Udine; 33'24'') and third for Alessandro Passerini (Triathlon&Training; 33'51''). "I am happy for this victory, this is a very nice course, I like the location a lot, even the public is warm, indeed, I am sorry that next year, that I will no longer be a junior, I will not be able to come back - said Aruffo - after the fatigue of high school exams, I have just graduated from a traditional scientific high school, now I focus on triathlon, next week there are the tricolors of Lovadina, I want to do well also because they will be valid as a selection for international exhibitions".

A more hard-fought race on the other hand for the juniors. After the first swimming fraction, the first to leave the lake was Isabella Balzi (Cus Udine). In the cycling fraction, the home athlete Giulia Secchi (Silca Ultralite) together with other athletes immediately closed the gap. Then the stretch that allowed her to enter the changeover zone first and sprint to victory in 38'30''. Behind her were Lisa Bellotti (Tri-Swim; 38'40'') and Isabella Balzi (Cus Udine; 39'54''). "I really did not expect this victory," commented Secchi, an 18-year-old high school (scientific) student from Cozzuolo di Vittorio Veneto. "I am happy with this success, especially in the race organised by my club Silca. Last year then I had won among the Youth B, today I repeated myself in the top category'.

In the Youth race (300 metres of swimming, 6 km of cycling distributed in 2 laps and 2 km of walking distributed in 2 laps), for the B category the victory went to Aaron Franceschini (Leosport; 25'23'') who last year had won in the A category and to Elisa Bonora (Tri-Swim; 28'04''), ahead of Silca Ultralite's home-grown Rebecca Gava. In the Youth A race Silca had a double victory, with Greta Fasolo first in 29'11'' and Giorgia Meneghetti second in 29'37'', while in the men's category Tommaso Pedrini (Tri-Swim) won in 25'49''. Those in the Boys category tackled 200 metres of swimming, 3 km of cycling and 1 km of running: victory for Alessandro Campana (Cy Laser Delta Triathlon) in 14'15'' and Noemi Molinaroli (Leosport) in 15'35''. Among the Beginners (50 metres, 1.5 km, 500 metres), Simon Fabbro (Lc Bozen; 10'05'') and Maria Vittoria Arduini (Raschiani Triathlon; 10'02'') crossed the finish line first.

"For the third year running, we hosted the Silca Tri Kids," commented the mayor of Revine, Massimo Magagnin. "I would like to thank the organising company, Silca Ultralite, with whom we re-established relations in 2021 and managed to bring the triathlon back to Revine. It is a pleasure for our community to make our area known. We have a location that is well suited to the sport, and we are proud to give young people the opportunity to practise sport and engage in healthy competition. Our thanks also go to the local volunteers and others, without whom the event would not be possible'.

"It is always a great joy to see the little ones approaching the triathlon for the first time,' says Silca Ultralite Vittorio Veneto president Aldo Zanetti. 'For them the fun is maximum, they have to swim, then get on their bikes and then run on foot. It is also a great exercise in organisation, because in the changing area they have to have a clear idea of where their shoes and bike are. Bringing young people, with the large retinue of coaches, chaperones, and parents in tow to our area is always a pleasure. For Silca Ultralite, in addition to the organisational effort, for which we thank the volunteers, organisations and partners always present to support us, there was also the satisfaction of two victories with Secchi and Fasolo and two second places with Gava and Meneghetti".
